Batman is the dark hero that protects Gotham City from evil doers. He shares many similar qualities of crime-fighters like Zorro and The Shadow, since Batman predates most other modern super-heroes.
Like Batman, The Shadow’s alter ego is a wealthy playboy, and he also instils fear in his enemies. Zorro too is wealthy, and fights for the well-being of the common man. Also, Zorro uses a cave near his home as a base, and is acrobatic and covert, like Batman. Batman creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger have acknowledged the influences of the two crime-fighters.
