Banzai is a member of the notorious hyena trio that consists of: Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed.
Banzai means "skulk" in Swahili. The name is an appropriate description since Banzai is frequently hunched over.
He is voiced by Cheech Marin and originally fellow hyena Shenzi was supposed to be voiced by Tommy Chong, reuniting the comedy duo, but ultimately Whoopi Goldberg filled the role. |
