Morpheus is the captain of the hovercraft vehicle named the Nebuchadnezzar in The Matrix (1999). The ship was named after King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylonia. The king, who reigned from 605 to 562 B.C.E. is perhaps most famous for building the Hanging Gardens of Bablyon. The Hanging Gardens are one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. |
