  The Plaza Hotel is the hotel that protagonist Roger O. Thornhill stays in before he is abducted in North by Northwest (1959).

The Plaza Hotel is a luxury hotel in New York city that opened in 1907. The hotel was deemed a National Historic Landmark in 1969 by the New York City Landmark Commission and is the only hotel in the United States to receive the distinction.

Donald Trump bought the hotel in 1988. The hotel is currently owned by the developer Elad Properties. The Plaza Hotel, which is undergoing renovation, is closed to the public and is slated to reopen in 2007.
