Indiana Jones’s trademark hat is a brown fedora, created by the company Herbert Johnson. The hat was ultimately chosen for the character in order to give Indiana Jones a distinctive silhouette.
The fedora was first invented in the early 1900s and became and essential item to complete business or formal attire. In the 1960s and 1970s the fedora, along with most other hats, began falling out of fashion.
