The name of this skiff guard is a nod to the film The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951), where the mysterious alien phrase "Klaatu, Barada, Nikto" plays a pivotal role.
Two other skiff guards in Return of the Jedi are named Klaatu and Nikto.
