Evey's name probably originates from the name Eve which means living. In the Bible, Eve was the first woman. She and Adam were expelled from the Garden of Eden after eating the forbidden fruit that grew on the tree of knowledge.
Evey, like Eve, is the first of her kind since she becomes one of the first supporters of the masked revolutionary named V. Also like Eve, Evy experiences a fall from grace and a loss of innocence and naiveté when she first witnesses one of V's violent acts of rebellion. |
